Checked my logs, didnt appear on Site 109 with any of those details, however I have noticed talkgroup 10100 active from an RFS radio, not sure if its a RFS or FRNSW talkgroup? As well as a bit more activity on the 10183 FRNSW talkgroup, which is unlisted on most sites.

Noticing a couple of 290xxxx id radios affilate to talkgroup 11481 lately, doesnt seem to be too much, no one ever talks on it. Most of the time the radios are living on 10019 with 1/2 of the RFS/SES fleet.

Thanks Matt, is that TG 11481 new?

It seems familiar but I don't have it listed, any idea who it belongs to? It's just above the ABCTV talkgroups.

Andrew, no idea mate to be honest I dont think anyone has ever keyed up on it, theres 3 that have appeared : 11481-11483, all radios that affilate to it are 290xxxx.

Another talk group that popped up recently was 19910, which is probably just another tech group. Usual ids showing up on that one. 19904 was seen down in Canberra tx in the clear.

Very interesting, sounds like TGs 11481-11483 might be a new user coming online or maybe just testing with rental radios?

I wonder if the new tech activity has anything to do with Airwave taking over the maintenance?

I guess we'll just have to wait 'n see? 2015 is fast approaching, this was supposed to be the deadline for a whole swag of agencies to migrate to the GRN but we haven't seen any indications of anything happening yet... no new sites/coverage, no new talkgroups, no new radio IDs? And what ever happened to the north coast expansion??

The only 'new' activity on the GRN at the moment is some agencies replacing the XTS5000 portables with APX series portables, there has been new entries on ACMA for new sites, but on further inspection seem to be infact for extra PMR coverage for the RFS. As for other agencies moving over, they seem to be moving to commercial digital trunking networks instead of the Government Radio Network, there was an article a few weeks ago about Penrith City Council moving over to a certain network, 3 councils on the North Coast are on the same network. From my observations in the CBD and other 'major event' locations over the past few weeks, theres a couple of agencies on TETRA by the look of their radios, as well as MotoTRBO.

Then you have NPWS, with increased activity on the new 160mhz network, so I doubt you will see them move to GRN. Sydney Water dont use radios anymore, they use 3G and Data Terminals.

Victoria are way ahead, already implementing Phase II sites, and in the last few weeks starting trial on the SMR-GRN migration. Running a split 160mhz/420mhz/468mhz(VICPOL) all in one. http://vicradiozone.wordpress.com/2013/ ... ow-active/

The last comment on that page (at the moment) is "Logged a couple of calls tonight – UIDs 3259902 and 3259905 on TGID 30502.".

This would seem to indicate that Victoria is actually falling into line with the national radio ID numbering convention after all (seven digit IDs beginning with "3xxxxxx")?
