Just my observation but it appears to be a common tech/test talkgroup available to multiple agencies? I've seen a lot of different agency's radio IDs affiliate with that one over the last year or so including ACT agencies.

The alpha tag sort of suggests that it might have something to do with the POP (Post Office Protocol) used by e-mail clients to retrieve e-mail but then again that's just wild speculation on my behalf and more than likely completely incorrect? (Insert your own acronym here!)

As far as I'm aware all agency profiles have the OTAP capability in them. It doesn't mean they will be used for whole fleet upgrades- it takes about 20 minutes of air time PER RADIO to load a large profile. What it is for is upgrading one off radios when it is quicker & easier to do this rather than traveling.

Cheers,

Richard

I agree with richard, all digital radios should have them in there(usually the last channel/zone programmed into the radio )

The RFS have it in Zone 8, channel 31. This channel will display the version number of the codeplug your radio is programmed with

20026 - RFS GD90 THE LKS <-- was hearing this off Chullora today is that normal?

11076 - Sutherland Council <-- was referring to Street/Road Sweepers, if that helps in more info for this agency.

Been listening to Sutho Council this morning and they are having radio problems in the lower areas of The Shire. Lots of dead spots. Hopefully when Cronulla P25 fires up it will fill the holes.

Mike,

Which areas? I would have thought Miranda & Heathcote would cover them fairly well even without Cronulla.

Cheers,

Richard
