GRN Link frequencies

Post by freqwaves » Thu Jul 29, 2010 1:29 am

This topic was talked about back in March 2006 by Rustyrails & I happened to come across some more frequencies the other night.
These frequencies are used to link into shopping centres for internal GRN coverage.
They are registered on the ACMA to "Department of Services Technology & Administration".
500.2625 - Control ch. data off GPT
500.950 - Control ch. data off Horsley Pk
500.525 - Voice ch. off Horsley Pk
500.6375 - Voice ch. off Horsley Pk
500.2375 - Control ch. data off Horsley Pk
Others listed back then but have been quiet:
500.0875
500.3875
500.5375
500.6875
500.8375

John

A lot of the 500Mhz transmissions (but not all) are GRN related
To help boost the signal for emergency / law services into Parramatta, Blacktown and Penrith shopping centres plus Parramatta Justice complex, the then contractor Telstra came up with a 500Mhz transmitter arrangement that is received by 500Mhz receivers at each site then converted as a downlink to 400Mhz
For all intents and purposes the radios on site just hear the 400Mhz
The analogue is the analogue 3600 baud GRN site 323 Horsley Park Hidden host site (500Mhz downlink to 400Mhz to get into a number of shopping centres)
The digital is the new P25 digital 9600 baud GRN site 150 Horsley Park Hidden host site (500Mhz downlink to 400Mhz to get into a number of shopping centres)

Generic 500Mhz
500.23750 digcc 500.40000 500.52500 500.63750 500.75000 500.95000 analog cc

Generic 400Mhz
416.26250 dig cc 416.51250 416.76250 417.01250 417.26250 417.51250 anlog cc

Check the P25 Site listing for 150 for the current arrangement
Site 323 will probably shut down by the end of the year

PS And of course there is the GPT Hidden host site 149 - similar arrangement
