10529 and 10562 are almost certainly Energy Australia as well

Garry, a few quick additions to the list:

40078 ACT SES Ops 1
40079 ACT SES Ops 2
40080 ACT SES Ops 3
40081 ACT SES Ops 4
40082 ACT SES Ops 5 (referred to as a "Vehicle to vehicle talkgroup")
40083 ACT SES Ops 6
40084 ACT SES Ops 7
40085 ACT SES Ops 8
40086 ACT SES Ops 9
40087 ACT SES Ops 10
40088 ACT SES Ops 11

I can't 100% confirm these but they are based on 40078 being Ops 1 and we know Ops 9, 10 & 11 come from the NSW SES radios so if you fill in the gaps you get the above?

10074 - RFS GD87 STATEOP
plenty of activity this morning off Razorback, sounds like the old channel is being shutdown and the new one is to be used, as operator is instructing them to use this channel from now on. Not sure if this has been going on for a while but been going on for few hours this morning.

Interesting, not all RFS contract aircraft are even fitted with new radios yet. one still has a MCS2000's!

And to top that off, one of the units that were actually fitted was directed to use the digital channel to find that the digital radio ID was not activated.... smart planning

Fair dinkum get a grip... one radio's activation gets missed & it is called bad planning. Mate, I wish we all were perfect. Given the RFS has some thousands of radios one gets missed- I bet there will be more. I'll get in first and declare that I am bound to be called a bad planner because I have almost no chance of not missing one radio in a few thousand... I'm good but I haven't quite mastered walking on water and turning water in to wine yet! Give the poor buggers a break... they at least are doing things & not just commentating like most of you. And if an aircraft still has an MCS2000 can I ask an obvious question? What has the contractor done to have it done? People need to discover something long lost with common sense... initiative. If I knew everyone else around me had an XTL but I had an MCS I'd be banging on doors.

Cheers,

Richard

your off your tree richard, 1 radio you say ? thats all that i mentioned as that one was only yesterday. do you want me to mention all the rest ? obviously you don't have a clue about contracted aircraft, do you think a pilot cares less that they have a MCS or a XTL ? get a grip, as long as it works, they don't care.

P.S if you can work out the water into wine part, i'll have a coonawarra cabernet '04 thanks

Not a matter of been perfect Richard, just the person who is charged with activating the radio/s ensure they are done correctly.

I believe RFS set a standars of what radios must be installed in aircraft for them to be able to be contracted to RFS for firefighting activities, and i'd imagine having an XTL would be one of those.
So logically if a pilot has an MCS2000 and the contact says he needs an XTL then he either a) hasn't bothered to fulfill the contract which he risks his livelyhood or b) has ordered one and is waiting for it to be installed
