Sure thing, once I have the time I'll give BuTEL a bit of a heads-up about the offset thing - and they also had bugs in the multi-table editor which means that entering an incorrect value and then hitting delete causes the whole damn thing to crash. Hmm. I wonder what the chances of the Win96 guys supporting the DTS-96 are? Wonder why ARC96 has no V-Scanner support for the DTS-96, and also why there's no DSP upgrades for us DTS-96 users either ... seems like we got the raw end of the deal from Dick ... woulda probably been much better off with a Pro96 if I had known. Or a Uniden 396T ... for less programming headache ... (but compromised receiving performance). Maybe it's time for a GRE PSR-500 ... just maybe ;).

Anyway, I've had the thing scanning away all day so far, locking out talkgroups which are sighted to try and get a list of what talkgroups I've seen keying up - needless to say it has already been fruitful with 19952, 10216 both sounding like they're encrypted and 11021 coming up (but no transmission, just silence) - groups which I hadn't seen before.

The main advantage of getting this working is so I can bring it along with me on train rides to other digital base areas that I can't get from home and see what sorta TG's I can pick up on those bases.

The guy who writes Win96 has been asked if he is going ot support the DTS-96, and was not interested. So I am afraid you are stuck with the butel software.
Butel software is not that bad once you master how it all works, actually you will find it does stacks more stuff then win96 will ever do.

I'm used to the BuTEL software ... used to it crashing and giving me grief over the offset issue. Besides that, it does work, so I am grateful that we even got multitable support from it so we could get the old 3600GRN up and running.

As for the CC ...
TG19952 came up on 418.225mhz - Site 109 Razorback Range.
TG10216 came up on 416.875mhz - Site 148 Governor Phillip Tower.
TG11021 - no clue, didn't hit the trunk button fast enough to save it.

We have the usuals as well:
TG10074 on site 148 - RFS State Operations
TG10055 on site 145 (Horsley Park - 415.9625mhz) and site 107 (Chullora 417.000mhz) and site 105 (Belrose 416.925mhz) and site 102 (Beecroft 416.1375mhz) - RFS PMR/GRN Analogue to Digital
TG19901 on site 102 (Beecroft 416.1375mhz) - Motorola Techs

And that was just today!

Earlier muddling about with Pro96Com let me see activity on:
Site 102 - TG10645 (no idea what this is)
Site 105 - TG10215 (no idea what this is either)
Site 109 - TG10010 - Emergency Services Liason?
Site 145 - TG19811 (no idea ...)

So far that is ALL the TGID's I've seen from my location at home (Chester Hill) on the 9600bps P25 GRN ... not that I have been monitoring for long. Just the past week really.

Well, the sooner you tell BuTEL about the problems, the sooner they can be fixed. He can't fix problems he doesn't know about.

Yes one thing I must say about the Butel range of software, if you find you have an issue just contact Gommert, the guy who owns and writes Butels software packages. He is usually very good with sorting out bugs when customers find them. One of the things I do like about Butel stuff. Can't say the same for the guy that writes Win96.......
