Confirm Talkgroups

Post by Scotty » Wed May 26, 2010 4:10 pm

Hi guys,

Looking for some assistance regarding some talkgroups I've heard coming up more regularly recently.

7376
Hatzalah - Jewish ambulance service. Mostly eastern Sydney. Is this still correct?

7840 + 7872
I have both these down as as ABC TV news. Haven't really heard them in a while but they were active over the Jesicca Watson homecoming and other recent times of GPT and southern Sydney sites. Can this be confirmed?

44176
NSW Ambulance Comms. I have it as a data channel but there's been heaps of voice comms. Seems like a back channel with regular chat between cars, but also seems there is some dispatch. Any help?

Also, I remember about 2 years back (maybe 3) there was discussion on the old ScanNSW forum about some 'pirates' using a rarely used NSWFB talkgroup and radio ID's for their own use. I remember listening to them use callsigns similar to fire appliances. Does anybody remember the talkgroup they were using and what happened to them? I haven't heard them in a while so assume they got booted (as they should) from the system.

Thanks,
Scotty

TG 44176 is definately NSWAS, they have a heap of spare talkgroups that can be used at the drop of a hat for major incidents or as chat channels for technical staff...

I still have (oldGRN) TG 7376 listed as "Hatzolah Net 1" but so many talkgroups have been re-farmed that I couldn't be 100% sure? I've heard traffic on (oldGRN) TG 7840 as recently as last NYE between "News" and "Chopper" talking about doing camera runs down the harbour for the fireworks but nothing since, although they don't get down the coast here all that often?

Also, a friendly reminder to all... Make sure that you specify if TGIDs and RIDs quoted are on the old (Type II) GRN or the new (P25) GRN!

It doesn't make that much difference yet but as agencies migrate across it will get very confusing?

Thanks guys for the info. I'll try and keep an ear out for the ambo talkgroup and figure out what area it is for - got me stumped though!
