I think part of it is all the privacy BS that we have to deal with these days, people's personal details being broadcast etc.; some RFS D/T/Zs actually want all the names of crews broadcast, the media must love that at Section 44s!

And if course it does stop the damn rubber-neckers... you know the ones... when you're a TCO at an MVA and the same car drives past four times; they are IMHO the proverbial rotten apples that are giving scanning enthusiasts a bad name.

It won't stop rubber kneckers at all, the worst ones are the ones driving past, hat decide to slow down, which causes a dam flow on effect causing massive traffic jams kilometers long.

OK so maybe I should have called them "Ambulance chasers" instead of rubber-neckers... either way they're still a PITA!

Haha, yer how dumb are they? I hoped there was a giant wave, might have removed some of the stupid people right out of Sydney in one foul swoop.
I was kinda of rubber knecking, but safely. I was watching the live surfcam from Nrth Bondi on my laptop in the loungroom at home, waiting to see the channel 7 crew and the onlookers get swept away. Unfortunately....... stuff all happened...

Is this confirmed? I had one of our appliance radios on GD58 for about 10 minutes earlier today and heard nothing. Makes me wonder, if GD58 is 10055, what is GD03 (if it works that way).

Yes it is confirmed, I got it straight out of a new RFS XTL5k.

"GD03 AVIATN3" is P25 TGID 10032 (in Decimal or 2730 Hex or 80010032 in Moto-speak) and no, it doesn't work that way...

The RFS's 94 new P25 talkgroups are spread out across the 100##, 200## & 300## series TGs, they are not in one consecutive block.

Andrew

P.S. All the RFS TGIDs and alpha tags are already listed in the database of the NSWGRN Yahoo group as are all the new ESO and Govt. Liason TGs.

Heard a bit of activity on TG10055 off the Beecroft site today.
Sounded like they were scanning and patching some of the RFS districts around Sydney as I heard bits of Hornsby/Ku-Ring-Gai, Warringah/Pittwater, Wollongong and one or two others I could not identify from the traffic.

Cheers
