Because there weren't enough local vendors still supporting Midband to ensure that there was competition or long term support for product.

Not happening... haven't you noticed that they are replacing their Midband PMR with Highband? They are very anti-GRN so I don't see your prediction coming true for many years. I'm happy to be quoted as believing this was one of the daftest decisions by government in Eons but Sparks & Wildfires continue to be allowed to live in their own little world.

Ah ok fair enough Richard, I was only stating what i was told by people who are supposed to be in the know but i guess it would come down to 1) how much money it would cost, 2) is the cost of changing over actually worth it...

and i pay no attention to npws freq's at all..
