GRN P25 testing has started.

Post by Mike Alpha » Fri Aug 28, 2009 6:43 pm

I picked up a strange data sound on 415.9625 yesterday. Sounded very much like the digital CCs I've heard in Melbourne and Perth.

I punched it into the 996 and it started tracking, displaying SID: 02D1h-0101. I've seen TG ID 2 come up encrypted and ID 5 in the clear.

Today I heard RFS in the clear on TG 10024. It seems to be a 2 voice channel system using Hosley Park frequencies.

The fun begins!

Mike

Hi Mike,

Get used to it- the fun is about to start. I'm sure you will see an NSWFB talkgroup come up in the next week or two. There isn't too much we can do with a single site to test on but at least I can start some very basic profile testing.

Cheers,

Richard

So will the sys ID's change for each zone from their current ones?

I was driving out along the Northern Road this afternoon; the Digital Control Channel seems to be a weaker Signal then the usual Analogue Control Channel in the same area.

Can usually just pickup the Horsley Park Sit from home in the South Penrith area but not this Digital Control Channel.

Thought I came across another P25 Control Channel in the 419MHz range this evening while driving around in the Penrith area. Tried to Hold my 996T on it but lost it and could not find it again.

Yep that’s the one.

Citabria,

Have you heard much activity?

I have been monitoring on and off since I came across your first post from the Penrith region and have not heard any transmissions at all. Just wondering if you are anyone earls has heard any TG in the past couple of days.

Or have I got my P25 System setting wrong?

You might hear me talking to myself today as I've just started to test the new profile...

Cheers,

Richard
