While watching Chullora on Unitrunker I observed a strange Talkgroup pop on the screen for about a second .. 5776 ... which use to be in the Sydney Water block. Using the database in Unitrunker I was able to determine that RIDS 743584 and 743585 were the radios in question that I saw. Strongly suspect that this may be a future SES digital talkgroup, as there are a few SES radios that I have logged in that radio range. Somebody obviously clicking away on one of their new talkgroups.
I notice that on the radio at work we have the new digital talkgroups as part of the profile but I would presume that as a general principle from the NOCC that there is an embargo on the use of digital due to insufficient sites available. I know our agency will swamp certain sites. I also assume that the SES and RFS techs are the dudes doing their testing with permision

Re: Talkgroup 5776
the ses don't have technicians as such afaik unless your lucky and have a deputy region controller that thinks he knows all about motorola radios but infact screws up the codeplug.
They have people at state hq that don't have any concept of how the radio is supposed to work and program it accordingly.

Re: Talkgroup 5776
I starting to think it was a National Parks and Wildlife person purpose playing with their radios. I think they have persisted for a long time with 78Mhz in the metro despite the GRN.

Re: Talkgroup 5776
You would be more correct with that statement grant...
I think some agencies are really looking at the costs of maintaining their own infrastructure and then looking at the costs of jumping onboard the nswgrn...
