New GRN Antenna Polarisation Method ????
Re: New GRN Antenna Polarisation Method ????
The advice I've just received is that this is NOT the GRN antenna and the site is operating normally.

Re: New GRN Antenna Polarisation Method ????
Interesting.
The GRN feeders go up that particular mast (hut is under the mast) and it appears that the only other antennas on the mast are TV style panel arrays. As I mentioned earlier, there are no noticeable other 400 MHz antennas. Not to say there isn't, just couldn't see any.
If GRN is working properly, that is good news.

I've queried what I've been told... I'm a bit suss about it. I've looked on the ACMA database & I can't see any other licenced UHF services at the site.

Backside tactfully kicked... yes it is the GRN antenna and an outage notification has now been sent out. Thanks for posting this Mal- someone needs to be "re-educated".

After all that... Mal it wasn't the GRN antenna after all. To be safe riggers were sent to site and photos of the correct antenna were taken. It pays to be certain anyway looking at the conditions expected tomorrow.

Riggers actually mounted that Antenna the way it is not as a temp repair, but for O.H.&.S. reasons.
When the failure was noticed, staff evacuated the site for safety reasons.
Riggers clamped the antenna in its current position to make it safe for staff to work below the tower.
The actual repair is scheduled for a later date.

But it isn't the GRN antenna... very important to clear up that misunderstanding.... I have no idea whose it is.
