With all these new sites going up and a lot of them being in the 420MHz band, do the radios have to have these new control channels programmed into them or is it done via the control channel data?

Another new wide area GRN site added to the ACMA today, (I assume?) making use of the microwave links added a while ago between Heathcote and Maddens Plains:

Unknown Site # - HELENSBURGH (Garrawarra Hospital Princess Hwy) - ACMA Site: 202677

Site added to the map and site/frequencies added to the Unknown Sites list on the forum.

I would've expected the other new Garrawarra site (ACMA Site: 5496) to have wide area frequencies added as well but it seems it hasn't happened yet?

Looks like they're still finding coverage holes? Another new North Coast site popped up on the ACMA today...

Microwave Relay Site - BURRINGBAR (Cooradilla Rd Murwillumbah) - ACMA Site: 370251

...with a microwave link back to BYRON BAY (ACMA Site: 34911)

Both added to the map, link frequencies only at this stage, I still haven't seen any wide area freqs licenced (not that I've really been checking).

I checked a couple of weeks ago for any sign of control channels in the Taree or Port Macquarie area.... Nothing
However some weeks ago in late June on another visit to Port macquarie while watching the encrypted local OSCAR channel with the whistler TRX-1, I saw a new 7 digit RID id which i took as the VKG Newcastle dispatcher trying out the new console set up. It only lasted a few hours then reverted back to the normal four digit 13XX

Good chance this is 1-97 or 2-99, I can't see it from here.

Thanks Matt,

RFSS 001 Site 072 - ST LEONARDS (Royal North Shore Hospital) - ACMA Site: 203613

...moved from the unknown sites list to the zone 1 list on the first page of this thread; and updated on the NSWGRN Map.

I also added this new site to the peers listing of the other 4 sites detailed above.

Thanks again!
Andrew

Just taking a quick look at the gaps in the site numbering list, the following are unknown or not allocated in zone 1 (that we know of):

001-001

001-017
001-018
001-019
001-020

001-023
001-024
001-025
001-026

001-031

001-051
001-052

001-068

001-074 onward

And the following are unknown sites in the metro area:

Unknown Site # - SYDNEY (Energy Australia HV Tunnel Shaft City Central Substation, Blackwattle Place)
Unknown Site # - CASTLE HILL (GRN Site, Kennards 5 Packard Avenue)
Unknown Site # - GLENDENNING (2 Enterprise Drive)
Unknown Site # - GREGORY HILLS (Comms Tower NSW Police Force Site Badgelly Hill off Badgally Road)
Unknown Site # - RYDE (Top Ryde City Retail Cnr Devlin St & Blaxland Dr)
Unknown Site # - SURRY HILLS (Electricity City East Cable Tunnel beneath 201 Goulburn Street)

If I had to guess, I would say that the two electricity tunnels are 001-051 & 001-052 because almost all the BDA sites are grouped together around there;

Castle Hill, Glendenning & Gregory Hills will likely be newer numbers;

And I have no idea whether that Top Ryde site even exists (I know we've looked and found nothing there but why is it still registered after 20-odd years, other decommissioned sites have been de-registered immediately)?

But why the big gaps either side of Cronulla and La Perouse? Were they planning on needing a heap more sites around the Kurnell / Botany Bay area?

The console id i saw was 21129xx .... it will be interesting to see if this 7 digit 211xxxx will apply across the board or leave them as 6 digits. Ps noticed most of the ambo Grn consoles are identifiable by xxx98xx.
