And so the endless cycle of government waste and pointless bureaucracy continues...

...like sands through the hourglass...

I will have a sweep through the GRN band on the way through at a couple of high spots to see if anything has been rolled out yet.
Nothing active (ie control channel) so far between 410-425Mhz in the Taree/Port Macquarie area

Brisbane Scan's comment that the RFS sites were largely used in the pilot would be a good place to start if you were going to hypothetically start to work out where to place them, then add FRNSW, Ambulance, Police, SES and Essential Energy.
See what doubles up and what fills in a gap.

I've noticed for the past 4 months (maybe longer) the SHT CC has been 417.3000. Don't know if there's a fault or if it's a permanent thing?.

Running on the alternate CC for some reason, which means all the other sites slaved off GPT (Bondi Junction & Martin Place) would be as well. AFAIK the slave sites just relay each of the link frequencies, there's only one actual site controller for 001-049 located at the GPT host site.

I can swap the CCs around on the list if we like, but I'm happy so long as it's running on one of the CCs listed, if the 416.3000 freq gets replaced as the alternate then it definitely needs changing?

I've read that other trunk systems rotate through their alternate CCs on a daily basis so I guess we're lucky the GRN is as static as it is CC-wise.

Two new ACMA sites just appeared with freqs newly licenced to the NSW Telco Authority.

The first authorised Monday 5th March just looks like link frequencies between the new site: EUGOWRA (NSW Police Site Round Hill) - ACMA ID: 9020874 and the MOUNT COONAMBRO site - ACMA ID: 151148, there's only one pair so I'm guessing it may be for a single police frequency?

And the other looks as if it may be a new NSWGRN site, authorised today 7th March:

PARRAMATTA (2-12 Macquarie St Marsden St side of Gov. offices) - ACMA ID: 49534

421.6625
421.9125
422.2875
422.4125
422.5375
423.0375
423.4125
423.5375
423.7875
423.9125
424.2875
424.4125
424.5375
424.6625
424.7875

All freqs 50W on "Parallel array of vertical dipoles-A, BA4040-67, RF INDUSTRIES"

Note that this is the exact same set of freqs as are registered at 001-071 1 Smith Street Parramatta and the two sites are only 500m apart, so it's a safe bet that the two sites will be simulcast ie. share the same GRN site number?

If they're that close it probably won't be simulcast, more likely they've moving the site.

The whole coverage zones would be in overlap and near on impossible to tune with simulcast.

Ah right you are, just checked the ACMA site for 1 Smith Street and all the GRN frequencies are gone.

I wonder why I didn't pick up the missing site in my search?

Huh... that must have only JUST happened, I just re-ran the search and 1 Smith Street is now missing, it was definitely still listed 30-odd minutes ago when I first ran it.

I think the police sites at eugowra and mt coonambro on the grn are a mistake, im thinking they put the new licence on the wrong site, theres 2 sites at mt coonambro, 1 grn and the other is the police site. Police Sites at cobar, walget, naromine and needle mountain came up on the 5th all with the same Parabolic-P, VHLP2-10W, antennas (dishes) and same emissions designation of 7M00D7W.
. I've seen the same thing at the police site at walcha road, new licences were put on as Grn but a few weeks later it was changed back to a nswpf licence. Obviously a few mistakes make their way into the system.
