yes it certainly would...

it would be nice if all sites regardless of capacity had a minimum say 10 voice channels and the bigger ones had like 30 or 40 channels but that will probly never happen due to the $$ involved in licensing the extra channels

I can't comment on the two you have quoted, freqwaves, but I do know that Northern Ops takes over from Sydney North Ops at about Berowra and the nearest ambulance station is Hawkesbury River and that would be in the Cowan footprint so would have thought it was normal for that talkgroup to be active on Cowan.

Having said that though, perhaps there are techs or management monitoring the country talkgroups in Sydney?

Cheers

There is also the other factor of ambos that take patients to hornsby hospital that normally reside on the coast. I've seen a number of times and heard ambo's attending accidents on the freeway are being diverted to Hornsby or RNSH rather than taking them to the central coast hospitals...

Suspect from what i have seen that

10343 = Nth Hospitals
10344 = East Hospitals
10345 = South Hospitals
10346 = West Hospitals - Confirmed - Westmead Hospital A & E heard

These are the code 3 car to ed doctor channels.
Need confirmation that I have got it correct

I'd say the next week or 2 will be interesting, I'll def have the laptop/scanner with me on the road to re-scan sites for new additions. (If only they made a pro96com for iphone haha)

Yep, the pressure must be on the RTA and Railcorp to get a move on with their migration now that the site capacity coin has been flipped with the added P25 load from the ambos?

Talking with Mike Alpha, we think it is the small sites like Chullora (only 4 digital voice channels) where there are other agencies talking all the time and radios are getting bumped off the system ie the small sites are a choke point ~ Grant
At least they're not in "All Start" mode, one small site would be sending 'busies' to the entire talkgroup!

HI ALL, The new Ambulance tg is alive here in Goulburn
TG 30321
They have both PMR and P25 patched together right now.
EDIT: You can only hear the console in Wollongong right now.
cheers

There is no pressure Andrew
RTA and Railways have always been flagged to follow the firies and ambos, sometime around March
It is a lot more organised that you realise ... almost 2 years of planning, installation of equipment, upgrade of radio software etc
I would hazard a guess on what i have seen in my agency and say we are ready to go now
But there is a schedule they are following
Just some hiccups given the size of the ambos talkgroups and the fact that they and the firies are likely to find the problems first, because they go into every nook and cranny of the metro area.
They had similar problems finding and fixing the poor reception areas with the police network .... techs keep tweaking and trying alternatives until they get it right
