Yeah, heard all the Sydney digital channels come active this morning on my way to work. Change over must be nearly done.

From what I culd work out while driving and listening:

10325 Syd North
10326 Syd South
10327 Syd East
10328 Syd West
10329 Syd S/W?
10331 Syd Rural?

Heaps of other talkgroups as well, but couldn't log them all while driving.

I am at home furiously scribbling and updating unitrunker

The dispatchers don't sound impressed so far
There seems to be a)capacity issues b)location reception issues C) radio issues - volume too loud or radio dropping out

The capacity issues are where transmissions are not getting through
Talking with Mike Alpha, we think it is the small sites like Chullora (only 4 digital voice channels) where there are other agencies talking all the time and radios are getting bumped off the system ie the small sites are a choke point
I reckon the NOCC will be on top by the end of the day and add extra frequencies at the small sites

Hilly Places are causing issues for the Engadine and Katoomba cars. More sites are the obvious solution.

Noticed that one of the GRN techs has affiliated and is monitoring the ambo channels

Grant

PS If they are still going encrypted at a later date after digital settles down, i suspect that this mornings experience may have unnerved a number of the users and probably slowed it down. The techs maybe happy with it but it seems to me that they have to convince the ambos some more.

Hi Grant and all,

I have been monitoring Cowan, Belrose and Beecroft this morning and can confirm I have heard most of the above talk groups and have also heard Northern Ops 20303 off Cowan.

Did hear one paramedic make the comment that "its not all it's cracked up to be".
Still it's early days isn't it?

Cheers

I'm not complaining as I like to hear what's going on in the country but why are we hearing them in the city & nearly on most repeaters. Is this a permanent thing or just while the changeover is happening?
20311 - Ambo Country West
20309 - Ambo Country Nth/wst?
