Hi Grant,

It really would be a good idea to routinely test as much for maintaining familiarity than testing if it is working. Now I have my new much awaited large piece of metal on the roof I have a feeder down to my desk so that I can test 11 out of 16 of the Disrecs from my desk (saves me parking up the top of Stacey Street Bankstown). The only time we have had a problem was when they changed the primary control channel freq at Kurrajong without telling us... and then we had that major link failure happen ... we suddenly lost almost all of our NW Sydney stations! They made me drive out and test every Disrec that day- left Greenacre at about mid-day, quick drive up to Freemans Waterhole, cross through Cessnock to Singleton, back down Putty Rd, across to Razorback & home! The things I do...

Cheers,

Richard

Thanks for the info Richard and Grant, yeah it makes sense. ;)

I assume that each site keeps a copy of the subscriber database otherwise how does it control access when it goes into site trunking?

Does this still work if a site goes into failsoft?

This listing I found on another site but I wonder if it is up to date as the TGID we are discussing is different to the one listed for Mt Sugarloaf.

1401 DISREC 01 13856 - Belrose
1402 DISREC 02 14096 - Cowan
1403 DISREC 03 13872 - CBD
1404 DISREC 04 13888 - Kurrajong
1405 DISREC 05 13904 - Horsley Park
1406 DISREC 06 13920 - Razorback
1407 DISREC 07 13936 - Chullora
1408 DISREC 08 13952 - Heathcote
1409 DISREC 09 13968 - Mt Tomah
1410 DISREC 10 13984 - Mt Lambie
1411 DISREC 11 14000 - Mt Penang
1412 DISREC 12 14016 - Mt Sugarloaf
1413 DISREC 13 14032 - Mt Arthur
1414 DISREC 14 14048 - Maddens Plains
1415 DISREC 15 14064 - Berkley Tops

Andrew,

The list is correct except I wouldn't have any faith in the talkgroup ID numbers. As I wrote we don't use these numbers so I would only depend on a list that has them in Hex.

I was told they still work in failsoft but have to admit that they probably have never been tested in that mode. Mal might be better placed to ancess the access control question.

Cheers,

Richard

Thanks Richard,

Ok, so I have converted them to HEX, interesting that they are in sequence apart from Cowan, but the Sugarloaf one is different from what we were originally discussing which was 380, so it looks like these are not the correct talk group numbers?

1401 DISREC 01 362 - Belrose
1402 DISREC 02 371 - Cowan
1403 DISREC 03 363 - CBD
1404 DISREC 04 364 - Kurrajong
1405 DISREC 05 365 - Horsley Park
1406 DISREC 06 366 - Razorback
1407 DISREC 07 367 - Chullora
1408 DISREC 08 368 - Heathcote
1409 DISREC 09 369 - Mt Tomah
1410 DISREC 10 36A - Mt Lambie
1411 DISREC 11 36B - Mt Penang
1412 DISREC 12 36C - Mt Sugarloaf
1413 DISREC 13 36D - Mt Arthur
1414 DISREC 14 36E - Maddens Plains
1415 DISREC 15 36F - Berkley Tops
1416 DISREC 16 370 - Mt Gibralter

Cheers

AML's list is the correct one... I can't remember why they aren't all in sequential order but this profile has grown over something like 14 years so talkgroups were added & inserted over this time (often before the new profile got rolled out). I'm going through this process now so even though most P25 tgs will be in sequence, sometimes I'll throw an odd one in...

Cheers,

Richard
