The Chullora site has been off air for a week or so and today my scanner came back to life. But the control channel I was receiving was 419.1125 that I had listed as Strathfield site 001-032 which I couldn't receive at home usually. Long story short, I found Chullora and Condell park sites are now transmitting 419.1125MHz as their control channels. I assume Strathfield is too.
Unitrunker shows this frequency uses CQPSK modulation which is used for LSM Simulcast sites. Also, Unitrunker shows bands 4, 5, 6 and 7 are used for the voice frequencies.
So I think this is a simulcast system called site 001-032 - whether it's permananent or not, I don't know.
And I had no issues as I drove around with reception on a USDS100 or Whistler TRX-2.

Looks like simulcast is here.

For those interested in following up, these sites share common frequencies on ACMA
Onsite visits to each location to confirm CC (with no aerial attached to the scanner) should be sufficient to establish their current status (stand alone CC or now LSM). Likely to be changing over time.

Clarence Street Sydney
Leichhardt Marketplace
RPAH Camperdown

Re: Looks like simulcast is here.
Noticed changes to the Chullora and Connell Park sites around the end of November, but haven’t had an opportunity to jump on here to see what the go was.
As yet had no issues scanning the 001-032 simulcast frequency on ‘non-LSM’ scanners, but may become an issue once more sites become active on the same frequency.

Re: Looks like simulcast is here.
Just because it is simulcast doesn't mean you are going to experience the same issues as the Americans. The number of sites employing simulcast, your distance from each of those sites, your antenna setup and possibly the voting algorithm amongst other characteristics may have an affect on your reception.
While LSM is a brave new world to us, it is not necessarily going to impact our reception of the GRN because there will be any number of non LSM sites to choose from that will be carrying the same traffic. That is not always the case in the US. A single LSM group will cover a county or city, offering no alternative non LSM sites. And because of this the Americans go into melt down over it.
