Currently watching three GRN sites in the Sydney Metro area that have been switched on, transmitting site identification but showing no peers, not shown as a peer elsewhere and not accepting any radio traffic

419.16250 - 001-092 - NAC 2D4 - BUCC 419.6625 - Ingleburn
422.47500 - 001-094 - NAC 2D2 - BUCC 423.7250 - Helensburgh (Squash Courts)
422.43750 - 001-124 - NAC 2D1 - BUCC 423.6875 - Westfield Eastgardens

To date I have been unable to get a clean signal from Liverpool on 001-022 Little Bay (new CC 422.3750) though confirmed that its new NAC is 2D4 when i did some listening from North Head at Manly last Saturday.

Nice work.

Can I confirm the Helensburgh CC/BUCC are the right way around? I have the CC as 423.7250 (from your post back in the 05/03).

It was originally 423.725 - i became aware of the site on DSD when it appeared as a peer on 001-016 North Head Manly with that control channel frequency
Subsequent to that i found a new control channel on 422.475 which was i was able to confirm on DSD as the same site 001-094
423.7250 has now become the backup control channel
001-094 no longer appears as a peer on 001-016.

Possible new site -

Site: 001-087 - Long Jetty?
CC: 422.3500 (04-1580)
ACC: 423.6000
NAC: 2D2
Peer: 001-002 (Pennant Hills)

No voice channels, and radios that are trying to affiliate are being denied.

The only site on ACMA that matches is Long Jetty (ACMA 9015064), but if that is right it is doing very very well to be getting into Sydney.

A GRN tech has just identified it on FB page as 001-087 Pendle Hill
ACMA shows different frequencies for Pendle Hill but he said definitely Pendle Hill

NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)

Postby Scotty » Sun Mar 21, 2021 7:35 am

Thanks Grant. It’s only running in a test mode at the moment, so may switch frequencies at some stage, or the database may just be incorrect.

Pendle Hill is ACMA site 202999. The frequencies that are on the ACMA database for that site only came online a couple of days back.

Matt (Longreach) alerted me to this on FB about recent enteries in the ACMA and a supersite at King George V Hospital site at Camperdown.

I did some digging on ACMA database and was amazed at what seems to be in the pipeline, presumably LSM (linear simulcast modulation) like in the Melbourne CBD

I removed the hidden host site enteries to get the following picture.

Grant, I've noticed these new frequencies and sites popping up as well but I was of the thought that the Telco Authority was parking the frequencies at these sites until they sorted out which ones to use and where. I recall they did similar when the GRN went from analogue to digital. I could be wrong...
