What is this

On Military Rd Mosman notice which looks like a micophone mounted on top of the traffic light. Does anyone know what it is? and whats it for?

Dude, that is a PTZ CCTV camera, there are thousands of them around sydney, feeds back to the RTA TMC

it looks like an antenna of some sort, might be to do with the traffic light systems as an uneducated guess

I have only seen them on Military and spit Rd they are not all lights

might be some new thing the rta are trialing, possibly someone who is more technolgically aware with antennas can elaborate as i know i've seen similar looking things but bigger in rfi catalogues i get emailed to me

Possibly some wireless conenction for the camera?
Though it looks liek the antenna is pointing at the ground ?

If we are talking about the object above and slightly to the left of the camera, I have seen those devices on the M4 motorway just west of the tollgates, on the airborne section above parramatta rd/church street. Suspect that they maybe some sort of automated counting system to determine flow of traffic.
