Good morning ALL... moved from Tassie at the start of the year, so new to listening in Sydney and asking for some help.

I used UNITRUNKER (along with several other programmes) in Hobart to follow some trunked channels... and now wonder what people are following here in Sydney, particularly what I might hear around St Ives where I currently live.

So .. whats about and what channel databases should I download ?

Cheers and thanks in advance

Gday,
Start here; viewtopic.php?f=24&t=769
Have a look at the map for towers in your location and match with the control channels listed to put into unitrunker, you should find plenty of action.

From your St Ives location, the two main ones are

1. Belrose (Site 001-005 Control channel 416.1750 15 channels ) and
2. Governor Phillip Tower Sydney CBD (Site 001-048 Control channel 416.125 23 channels) aka as GPT

Governor Phillip Tower is the most active site for affiliations.
It has the Opera House and Ferries traffic.
Ambulance, Fire, Roads, Maritime, Rail, Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Services are frequent users
You will also see that there are a number of encrypted agencies. Some we know (eg Corrective Services, NSW Sheriff) and some we don't

Everybody has their own compilation and it differs depending on your location
I am located at Liverpool in Southwest Sydney
I listen/log mainly off Horsley Park (Site 001-045), Chullora (001-007), Beecroft (001-002) and GPT (001-048)

I run Unitrunker v33.6 and DSDPlus via a tapped Uniden 780

PS
From bitter experience i have learnt to save often (unitrunker sometimes corrupts the data) and also to keep a xml copy on a USB (otherwise you may loose all your data when the HDD crashes)
