ACMA at Invictus

Post by Mike Alpha » Thu Oct 18, 2018 7:15 pm

Spotted an ACMA 4X4 at Olympic Park today. Multiple antennas of varying types and lengths all over it. I'd say they are sniffing out any illegal radio microphone and 2way radio frequencies possibly brought in by overseas media.

They will be there full time till event is over ,

The op is very much like the recent commonwealth games , auditing of the airwaves ,

They also drive around the outside area looking for offending baofengs in unrelated locations ,

also have a few remote monitoring locations in the area logging traffic for auditing

acma site rules dictate that all broadcasters have to have gear inspected and logged , and mic / camera channels chosen prior to entry

Just on a legal point, no vehicle is exempt from fines, even diplomatic vehicles will receive infringements. Whether the fines are paid is another argument altogether.
