Truer words have never been spoken. In fact, I believe Retard Reference does quite a bit more damage to the state of play than people might realise...

And glad to see someone else realises the dis-service RR is doing to the hobby.

Quite a few people are thinking along these lines, rusty - so much so, that someone who shall remain nameless has created a URL http://retardreference.com/ that redirects to RadioReference!

No doubt the Americans will not see the humour in that.

And why anyone here would want to supply RR with data is beyond comprehension. Especially with their premium membership or whatever its called - selling the information back to you.

We have more than enough good forums and sites here why give it to one from overseas? And lets face it, most Americans don't even know where Australia is. Having been there twice I can say that with certainty.

What I also find interesting is that Lindsay C. Blanton (the 3rd) made a very distinct and deliberate move to separate the RadioReference side of things, from the online scanner streaming business into a separate legal entity, named Broadcastify. While I can't say with any certainty why this was one, I would assume that having two legal entities protects and minimises the damage if one gets sued or taken down...

Either way, both websites are simply accelerating the push for full, strong, encryption everywhere, which most certainly does render the scanning hobby dead.

But you have to hold your scanner upside down when you enter it.
