USPS snail mail delivery times.

Post by Mike Alpha » Mon Jun 01, 2015 8:42 pm

I ordered a SDR dongle from NooElec with standard USPS shipping. I was told it would take about 10 days for delivery. 10 days elapsed and they contacted me to see if it had arrived. I said no. They then said the standard delivery time for Australia was 2 - 6 weeks. It's been 6 weeks now and still nothing - for a small pouch with a USB dongle in it! They now say they can't put an investigation on the order for 45 days.

Has anyone else had this kind of delay in shipping from the states?

Mike
PS. Tracking information stopped at US outgoing point 1 day after the order was placed.

Sorry Mike but after 6 weeks I'd say it's gone?

I've long suspected that there's only one mail flight a week from the US to AUS as everything I've ordered seems to always leave there on a Wednesday morning (their time) and arrive here on a Thursday evening (our time)?

USPS generally has two options, Express or Priority. If it gets to the plane in time, Express will allow something purchased on a Monday or Tuesday to arrive the following Monday or Tuesday (so roughly a week in transit), stepping down to Priority adds about a week.

It's not uncommon for tracking to cease once it leaves the US as Australia Post doesn't always seem forward the info to the USPS, but try entering the tracking number on the AusPost website and see if you get any more information?

Hi all,
Australia post have gotten pretty shocking in recent times. For instance my wife ordered a T-Shirt from Queensland and it took 10 days to get here.

Pretty unreasonable if you ask me. The mail just seems to be getting worse and worse too.

I've never had a drama with stuff from HK either. I bought the NooElec dongle with the TCXO and I think they're only available from NooElec USA.

I think our mailman is dyslexic. Every week I get mail for various neighbours up the street and they get mine.
