Aldi $99 UHF CB radio

Someone on Whirlpool Forums found it"s the same this

Can't find any reviews though.

Hi all,
A bloke i know fairly well brought one, He's not too pleased with it and i believe he's ripped it out. I guess the price reflects how it is?

I was nearly going to buy a Oricom UHFCB until I read the reviews.Receive circuit is not good & other problems experienced by owners.
You get what you pay for.

If times are that tough and you need to buy an Aldi radio, flick me an email and i'm sure for not much more you can get a decent radio from ebay that rips over any crappy aldi radio.
If your
DECENT ebay radio needs programming for 80ch UHF and I have the gear for it, I'll do it for free or find someone that will for you.....

No idea why you'd buy this when the Baofeng's are programmable and do VHF as well... and sell for $35-$40 on fleabay.
You can even buy vehicle mount accessories including antennas, roger sets, automotive power supply, etc. - for far far less than $99
Sure they aren't legal according to the ACMA... but when was the last time somebody was caught? I believe it was somewhere near never.
Programming is the only real hurdle but it really isn't hard for anyone with a scanning background.

People do indeed get caught for using non compliant gear.

The odds are not against you, but my suggestion would be if you choose to do it, don't discuss it in a public forum. That's how most come unstuck.
