Radioshack 2096 wont do P25
Hi all
I am trying to get my Pro 2096 scanner to track P25 digital.
I have made a new system on its own bank and have it set to MO. The control channel comes up as 96: SYD2D1, T0322 and BEE00 and 99%. There is a plus underneith the bank number so I think thats Open scanning mode.
When I press scan it just says Scan Up and won't find or display a TG.
If I put in a voice channel and hold on that I can hear the TG but it doesn't trunk track.
My Uniden decodes the same control channel no problem.
I have tried following the manual several times but there must be just something I am missing.
I don't have a data cable or software for this scanner.
Anyone have anything to try?
Mark

Hi Mark, yeah its easy mate. program in the control channels then hit FUNC TRUNK then hit FUNC 2 .
Put your base freq of 412.475mhz.
your offset is 16384
your step is 6.25khz.
hit enter after each step.
Hit FUNC 3 and select table(I know its the 3600 value) and hit enter.
hit FUNC 4 and also select Table. (9600 setting) and hit enter.
That should get you going mate.
cheers
Matt

Programming cables for these is easy. An Icom OPC478 with a 3.5mm stereo to mono adapter will work. The adapter can be purchased at Jaycar.

Thanks for the quick replies.
Matts instructions worked well. Thanks mate.
I didn't see that in the manual and thought all that stuff was for the old GRN not this new fangled digital thingy.

No worries mate anytime. as i said on ECRS im still having trouble as the old 4.1 system is still active in my area, my 96 seems to wander and lock onto the 4.1.
hopefully they turn it off soon, its wasting space being there now.
cheers

Just remove the analogue CC, that should fix that issue...
