DickSmith DTS-96 - Software Now Available

Nope, there is really only ARC96 for programming the DTS-96. You need to set up the multi tables in the scanner to follow the P25 NSW GRN, which you can only do with software, and the correct settings.

Just offtopic a little, anyone seen DTS-96 for sale in Sydney lately, i picked one up from North Ryde a few weeks ago for $120, but ended up being faulty and sent it back. Other then that I havent seen any other stores that stock 'any' digital scanners. The Uniden models are 100% goneski, and i had a look on one of the computers in store and they had a price of $302 for both 396 and 996. Talk on another forum is that the Uniden 396 will make a come back, but ill believe it when i see it.

haha, this was just a one-off thing i seen it there and talked the guy down, Few more weeks and ill get a GRE. just need to knock a few bills out the way first :]
tell you what but, you would probably get a fair coin on ebay for it, i seen a 2026 go for 250~ and alot of those uniden handhelds are going for top dollar as well, so might be worth having a stab, never know.. everything moving to digital now, and not being able to find many in shops, people will pay anything.

I can confirm that Uniden will be re-releasing the 396 around the middle period of this year.
