Uniden 996T, GRN and GPS site lockout feature...

Post by Mr Flibble » Sun Jun 12, 2011 1:30 am

Hi guys, I'm pulling out my hair here, I'm using DMS format GPS co-ordinates in ARC996, for example Beecroft is DMS Latitude of -334424.65 and Longitude of 1510329.56.

All good, even the show map feature in ARC996 shows the position correctly on google maps.

However when I write to the scanner it puts a minus in front of the Longitude which then sets the GPS coordintes to somewhere in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean...

No matter what I do it put's a leading minus on the Longitude... Anyone else experienced this? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Still shows fine with no minus in Arc996.

AJ

I've also set the scanner within the menu to DMS format prior to writing to it.

Disregard I may just program the location info from the keypad on the 996T, seems to be easier lol

If you use the uniden software. It will program the GPS site as Lat xxxx N and Long xxxx E which means I need to go into each site and change the N to South Lat manually.
