UH015SX

Post by scanSydney » Sun Sep 07, 2008 7:03 pm

Hi all,
Has anyone bought one of these? I want a new UHF CB for the car, as the one I've currently got is an ancient 1W brick. This one particularly strikes me because it's only about $100 more than another good UHF CB (UH089 for example...) on eBay, and it has 60 memory slots to scan between 400-512MHz (which is what I particularly want--scanning RFS PMR).

Anyone had any expeience with this radio/scanner?

Cheers.

My step father has had one in his 4WD for around 3 years now. He seems to be rather happy with it, using it for 4WDing and while travelling HWY’s with a caravan. He uses the scan function around home to listen to the Ambulance & Firies, and it seems to work OK.

I'm also interested in one, purely for the remote head.
I've never used one so i can't comment.
Will let you know in a few weeks though

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I would ask in here.
If i bought the Uniden radio, and also wanted to scan RFS PMR on it.
I would need to buy a UHF antenna, not just a specific 477Mhz Antenna.
Am i correct?

Cheers,
Alex

For receive only, the 477 antenna should work fine for RFS PMR.

Got this unit, simple review--excellent. Put my and surrounding districts RFS PMR's in, can hear all of them brilliantly; like I'm in the truck! Other general features like CTCSS/DCS and all that are there, etc.

Does the CTCSS decode work on the RX channels?

I've tried turning it on when set to the RFS PMR channels, and it just beeps back at me, and the manual doesn't seem to indicate it either. :(
