One thing that always annoyed me - to use the CTCSS/DCS search feature you had to select "analog only"

It would be better to leave it mixed mode, and add a search feature that does analog CTCSS/DCS and in P25 mode, it displays the NAC..

I don't know, still inclined to go for one of the U.S. models, at lest Uniden America seem to provide some kind of after sales development support/service, Oz Uniden provide fuck all

At this stage the RRP will be $499 for the (U) BCD396XT. Subject to change of course but that is the plan.

Rusty - is the RF performance of the new 396 comparable to, say a 996? The original 396T was terrible..

Ya - been out in the USA for yonks. Scanner demand in Aus is significantly less so Uniden Aus tend to make sure that a model will really sell before they decide to distribute them here.
