UBCD-996T Poor Receiving Signal Strength

Hi all,

Just a quick question Re: 996T, just wondering if anyone has experienced a 996T that had developing very Poor Receiving Signal Strength.

Over time I have noticed that my 996T Receiving Signal Strength has seemed to become very poor. When placed next to my UBC-780, and on the same Control Channel the 996T shows no signal indicators while the 780 shows all 6 bars.

Any ideas?

Well unit is now with the Uniden Service Centre, now just have too await the verdict.

Funds permitting, I hope it will be back online in 3 weeks time or if the repairs are to costly, well it will end up as a expensive paper weight.

Even after half a day, I have established that my car still has a AM/FM Radio, but where is Kyle & Jack’O.

Well, dropped my 996T off at Uniden a week a bit ago for the 2nd Time, asking that a more detailed fault finding be done.

Got a phone call from Uniden on Friday Afternoon, asking for return address so to post my 996T back to me, Funny thing is, I could have sworn she said "Replacement Scanner" and not my original one.

Either way, I should have a WORKING 996T Scanner back in the car again tomorrow, and will be very happy if it works just as good as it did 2 months ago before this problems started.

Na Uniden replaced the scanner and the replacment is working a charm.
