USDS100 Firmware Upgrade Soon!

In a few weeks Uniden Australia will be releasing a firmware upgrade for the USDS100 (Australian version only, it will NOT suit the US or European versions).
This upgrade is a bug fix it will NOT provide any new features or functions. Why? Because none are planned or needed for the USDS100 in immediate future, that's why!

Briefly, the new firmware resolves an issue with the analogue scan speed when DMR is also scanned. The firmware version is v1.11.00.

Also an update to the Victorian CFA database to suit the UBCD436PT and UBCD536PT has been released. Please note it only suits the UBCD436PT and UBCD536PT and CANNOT be loaded into any other model.

Check the Uniden Australia website for the upgrades.

I will check when it is going to be made public. I have Beta tested it with no issues so don't understand why the delay.

It doesn't look like they've ever updated that page after all this time.

Speaking of SDS devices, mine only says SDS100 on the casing, not USDS100, does that mean I have a Yankee unit? could it even be flashed with an Aussie Firmware, or does the Aussie version also default to US settings?

Yes and No

Yes
SDS100 is US version
USDS100 is the Aussie version
SDS100E is the Euro version

No
Sentinel software and Firmware versions are not interchangeable with the different models.
Don't attempt to flash a firmware upgrade not suited to that model.
Don't attempt to use Sentinel software not designed for that model.
If you try, you risk corrupting the firmware of the incorrect model making yourself an expensive brick/door-stop.

No worries, I figured I'd better ask. I think the one I have is a US model, but I don't think there's truly any real difference between each of the models from what I can see from various Youtube videos.

The US model (SDS100) has restrictions in place on the lower part of the VHF band and in the 800MHz band. These restrictions are removed in the AU (USDS100 ) and EU (SDS100E) versions.

For many people the missing bands won’t cause an issue.
