Does anyone know where i can get an extension or a longer one, 3 meters isn't quite long enough.

Given that one end of the cable is nothing more then a 3.5mm stereo audio cable, go buy yourself a 3.mm stereo female to male headphone extension cable and plug it into that. You can get them in 3 meter lengths, so adding that to your current cable should extend it much further.

something like this should do the trick

Yep, I needed to add another 1m to mine, and it worked well for me, the remote head works fine.

I know it works fine. I tested this when I first got my own remote head to see if it would be possible and then maybe put the scanner in the boot of the car but unfortunately you still need to have audio the scanner so that idea went out the window.

A suggestion, I know the Uniden TrunkTracker Scanners have had shocking Audio Quality output on GRN, very low. I made up a 3.5mm audio plug and connected my UBC245 up to an old Graphic Equalizer, worked a treat boosting the audio out put of my Uniden TrunkTracking Scanners.

I know they are hard to find these days, well I have not seen one in stores for years but I still use my old Graphic Equalizer to boost the 996T audio, works a treat.

I made my own powered speaker years ago using a similar amp kit to this

Fits easily into most existing comms speakers.

I included a bypass/power switch.
