The SDS100E has been officially released and is available in Europe as of early October 2018.

Unlike the Euro version of the 436PT (3600XLT), the SDS100E lists that it doesn't come with DMR included in the price. DMR, NDXN and Provoice are all additional purchases.

roughly $1080AUD with DMR and NXDN options purchased. Alot of money!!

You will have to worry about that too much. Unless you pimp your scanner with the bigger battery of course.

soon the SDS100 will only come with this battery , as in the new shipments .

Hmm. I guess it’s reasonable to say that R&D funding for the SDS100 went towards developing the application of SDR, and not so much into how it was going to be powered.

One of the downsides of direct conversion SDR is that it does tend to use a bit of power. Being a first generation design, compromises like this are to be expected unfortunately..
