396t and xt models

hoping anyone can shed some light on the following for me

I using a uniden 396t and 396 xt model. both have the same cc channels in both. I have noticed when both scanners are on lets say on one grn channel for example say Wollondilly RFS. I can pick up on one and not the other or vice versa on the scanner. is there something in the setup on either or both and I haven't got quite right.
