UBCD396XT Firmware

Can those with UBCD396XT's please check the firmware in their units for me and see what version is installed. Mine currently has v1.02.02.

I ask as I don't believe there has ever been an update made available by Uniden Aus for this model, however a colleague has suggested that they have a v1.04 installed on their scanner. He swears that he has the Aus 396XT and not the US version or the 396T (the latest version for the 396T was 1.14 and I assume their may have been 1.04 at some stage), so I'm confused. I'm thinking he is mistaken...

There is nothing on the Uniden Aus website that answers my question at all.

I have a brand new unit fresh from Uniden and the firmware is 1.02.03. To check if your colleague has the US or Australian version ask him to check the label on the back. I will ask if the US firmware upgrades can be installed in the Australian version. Usually it will brick the unit. Most of the recent US firmware upgrades deal with their 700 MHz rebanding. They have little to do with Australian conditions. Again I will find out if I can get hold of the 1.02.03 firmware.

Mine is running 1.02.02. Would be awesome to get hold of 1.02.03.

If you are able to get Uniden to provide a copy of 1.02.03 it would be fantastic. I'd also be keen to know what the update includes.

For the information of Scotty and others who maybe interested. Here is the response to my enquiry regarding the firmware difference in the UBCD396XT.

"The difference in software versions is regarding a revised factory LCD test mode. There is no function change and no firmware release for end user update."

What that means is the overall operation for 1.02.03 is the same as 1.02.02.

Also, I had the other bloke double check his 396XT. I confirmed with him that he has the US version and this it has v1.04.04 installed, so not relevant to the Aus version. He bought it 2 or so years back and didn't know there was a difference.
