469.8000 156.7 CTCSS

Post by cartman » Sat Jan 01, 2011 3:23 pm

Heard this user on a number of occasions on 469.8000 156.7 making the trip into Blacktown
I am almost certain that this is the Juvenille Justice location at Campbelltown
Callsigns are strictly "Alpha", "November" etc with references to pool, gym etc but each movement of person(s) supervised and requiring authority

Three frequencies listed - all simplex
469.8000 156.7
471.7250
475.1000

Anybody shed any light on what is almost certainly a Juvenille Justice location

Grant,

Can confirm that it is JJ. However the closest to you is Cobham, but the trip to Blacktown sort of precludes it being them. Only other guess is maybe the community services office at;

Blacktown
Level 1, 22 Main Street
Blacktown 2148

is using the channel for private comms.

There is a detention center at Airds called Reiby. That is the frequency they work on too. Usually simplex. I used to be able to listen to it year ago when I lived at Campbelltown. Mostly the night shift workers there playing trivia games on a quiet night, with the odd disruption.
No listened to it for many years now, live to far away, but you may be getting it via ducting possibly? Would not think so, being Airds is way down in the altitude stakes ( amoung other downs that suburb has ).

Living in Campbelltown I can confirm that this is the Reiby Detention centre at Airds.
Your getting some good reception Grant from your location at Blacktown!

It is patchy to the south - perhaps because of the horsley park ridge/hills. I don't seem to get Razorback well. Mind you it is a magnetic base indoors. I can't just whack one up in the gutter (due body corporate). Rusty made the suggestion of tuning in the TV aerial which sits centrally above the second floor roof ... may pay some investigation as i don't use the Tv connection upstairs

PS On the other day they mention somebody had just shown up (ie new inmate) and asked one of the staff to arrange accomodation
