The book says;
16KO is a 16kHz wide band signal.
D Emission in which the main carrier is amplitude- and angle-modulated either simultaneously or in a pre-established sequence
1 A single channel containing quantized or digital information without the use of a modulating sub-carrier
W Combination of voice and or data
E Multi-condition code in which each condition represents a signal element (of one or more bits)
W Combination of frequency-division multiplex and time-division multiplex

Therefore I think it might be something like the ambo PMR channels that run voice and MDT at the same time - only a guess.

Sounds a hell of a lot like TRBO or NXDN.

Rusty - hen they say "Combination of Voice and data" Digital voice is included.. P25 voice channels are considered a voice channel under their definition (sometimes)

Emissions Designators are confusing as hell!

Matt,

Agreed 100 percent designators are confusing as hell. They are never accurate and do not always reflect the true usage.
