Just wondering if Council Rangers are also the same as Parking Rangers? I was reading that they're now using Council Rangers for added security around the Darlinghust/Oxford Street area and are thinking of doing the same in the CBD and Kings Cross. If so, it could provide for some interesting listening. I currently have PArking Rangers on 493.3250 CTCSS 123 and 488.6750. Wonder if these are the frequencies that they would use?
Cheers,
Pat

Re: Rangers
Rangers by nature are normally Special Constables and endorsed to act under all different types of legislation to be able to enforce laws ranging from parking to environmental etc.
Special Constables have the same legal search/arrest powers without looking into the Anti-Terror stuff that a Constable of the NSW Police has.
Parking Officers are just generally speaking, and this is generally people who are employed by the council and only enforce parking regulations. Looking at the job they do and the fact they are not allowed to carry any appointments to defend themselves if they are attacked there is no way in heck I'd do it.
At least where i work if some guy wants to attack me for writing out a parking ticket for parking in a no stopping zone i have baton & handcuffs if things get out of hand.
