We think they are on 800Mhz TETRA - they disappeared off 800Mhz AAP Analogue Trunking some months ago

Hi all spoke to a tow truck driver and noticed he had a motorola radio on the screen it said zeon trk 2

2 of the major tow groups in Sydney are using TETRA Zeon.(there were on 800mhz before)

Saw another tow truck driver tody from a different company with a similar radio and noticed it had GPS stamped into the antenna

Heard this arvo a tow group doing a job on the M4
Not sure where but probably Parramatta-Granville area judging by the google enteries and the location of the rental transmitter
Distinctly heard them say that a lady was on the off-ramp waiting for an "Australia-wide" towing truck

493.4250 118.8 - Australia Wide Towing - Vertel Comms Sydney Tower
At least 15 trucks + base on their radio network
Some form of MDT as well

Will keep an ear and see if I can confirm, 179.9 on that (493.4250) seems to be a courier/transport company.

I also logged back in 2008,Burlington Northern Freight using ST 179.9 on 493.425.
Will monitor as well for the tow company sharing this channel.

Combined Towing - seen a driver with a MPT850 on his belt
