The bad news is they are / will be TRBO.

When Glenfield station expanded they also got 3x new frequencies.
450.1375
450.4125
450.2125
Won't 418.1375 stay analogue for communications with train drivers?

John,

Those frequencies in the 450 MHz range are not used at Glenfield, they are merely parked there to stop others using them in the southern Sydney area. This is a common practise used throughout the metropolitan area.

Stations do not talk to train drivers. Only signal boxes and the RMC do that. 418.1375 at Glenfield and the other stations mentioned will be TRBO, basically all stations in the Sydney Trains and NSW Trains area will migrate to TRBO over the next few years. Where 418.1375 is used by Metronet, it will be replaced by the DTRS or Digital Train Radio System, which uses a GSMR platform. When DTRS is full operational which is a good number of years away yet, 418.1375 will go into a general pool of frequencies known as the rail band for use by rail operators. It is most unlikely that it will remain analog, as digital is being pushed by ACMA. Whether it is P25, NXDN or TRBO remains to be seen. The most likely candidate is P25, but that is not a given.

Grant,

The two 410's are not for the SWRL they have other uses. Also I can confirm that except for 450.0500 all the others will be TRBO when finally operational.
