490.450 - tow or motorway?

Post by freqwaves » Sun Feb 24, 2013 9:43 am

Have been monitoring 490.450 which is a Australian Mobile Radio rental channel off Horsley Park.
Captured two different subtones off this frequency.
136.5 - Tow company
110.9 - Motorway patrol ?

Can someone confirm or correct my findings?
Thanks, John.

The conversation i heard was someone mentioning coming down a onramp & stopping behind the car for cover. Could be towies or motorway patrol.

99% of the time there is a 110.9 ctcss carrier pulsing every 60 secs
On one occasion late yesterday i heard the road crew talk for 20 secs
Definitely not towing

Johns original post suggest ctcss 136.5 could be the Tow company

162.1375-st-127.3 is Veolia Bus Company from Menai base.
Nace I think is doing the M5 widening & they had a frequency around 465.4625 when doing the widening around Ingleburn.

Heard on subtone 110.9 mention of tollgates & "going to a M5 meeting" so it's a good chance this is M5 motorway patrol.

Thanks for the update, ill try and note the actual company contracted to the incident reponse on the M5, was just a traffic control company with appropriate sign writing on the side and back.
