With my audio and video stream i currently run it at 17kbps through Windows Media Encoder.
im looking to up this a little to get a bit more quality sound,
though i have been playing with winamp and icecast and for a audio stream not much bigger the sound difference is huge.
it must be the way it encodes the audio, wme must just do a poor job at it!
What does everyone use for their wme setups?
What settings do you use in WME?

Re: What settings do you use in WME?
Sorry about the exceptionaly late reply. I was looking through old threads and seen this one. It may be of interest to other people as well.
The settings I am using for my main stream are:
Audioance : 27Kbs
Codec: Windows Media 9.1
8Kbs 11KHz Mono CBR
Video:
Windows Media Video 9
15kbs
Frame rate 8fps
Keyfram 8s
Quality 60
buffer size 5s
It was a bit of trial and error but I think its a good balance between quality and bandwidth.

Re: What settings do you use in WME?
Hi
These settings were used on a 1500k, 8000k and now a 24000k ADSL 2+ connection. I have found that on the previous connections after about 7 listeners my connection would really start to slow down. I put up with it though and having a porxy server on my LAN does help. Its not much of a problem with the ADSL 2 connection. It starts to slow down after about 15 listeners.
When I got ADSL 2 I upped the audio rate a bit from I think 6kbs to 8kbs.
What I did was make sure the video was fairly clear and then work the audio side out.
