Statewide GRN coming soon?

It looks like they'll begin taking over RFS PMR sites and make them all GRN.

Re: NSW RFS: East Region - All TG's and Frequencies

E075 RFS PMR (424.1500) part of voting group E009 HORNSBY is active off Mt White. It's also patched into the GRN channel eG028 HRNSBY. This will be the only P25 PMR repeater Hornsby will be activating as far as I'm aware - it's basically been set up to cover the hole in decent GRN coverage around Br...

Re: Frnsw station 71

Yeah, that's all normal. Hornsby RFS have an arrangement with stations 71 (Castle Hill) and 75 (Berowra). They have provided them with an RFS portable so they can call onto jobs/provide sitreps prior to RFS arrival (very useful sometimes)/send stop messages which both the RFS and FRNSW are attending...

Call (not Phone) Function

Hi guys, Today, I was running some RFS members through the XTL5000 O3 handsets for their annual competencies, and I decided to give the radio-to-radio (CALL) function a go. Worked really well; very impressed by it. One thing I wasn't sure about it, does it cost anything to do this? I completely unde...

Re: Baulkham Hills RFS District

Is it a case that there is an actual need for the old VHf system, or it is just a refusal from those above to move with the times? Not sure. What I heard initially was that the old VHF system was better for their area due to the extremely hilly nature of their RFS district, which I suppose to a deg...

Re: Baulkham Hills RFS District

From listening it appears they are making good use of their GRN channel 'eG019 BKM HL' (TG: 10036). I can't hear anything on their normal PMR VHF (council) channel or the UHF PMR channels. I also can't get anything on the fire ground channels, but am pretty sure I'm too far away to pick up any acti...

Re: No registration link!

Hi guys, thanks for reporting this. The link has been disabled until the database transfer to the new hosting account is complete to avoid having issues with differing databases. The other problem we often face is the mass amount of spam sign ups which apply and need to be filtered out by an adminis...

Re: Locked out!

Hey mate,

Had some serious server problems over the last week, saw his email about it too. His account is now reactivated and all should be good.

Cheers.

Re: New Channel and Zone Allocations

I would not even bother trying to work it all out, it will still be some months before Newcastle & Sydney Comm's work out what is workable in the way of channel patching and operator numbers goes, and you could find it all changing this coming fire session if it ends up being a busy session and if ...
