And the issue is?
We are not talking about hacking into secure military comms, or an air defence network, or the PM's office... just routine emergency services communications.
It just shows you can do a PhD on just about anything.

OK then. Likes like an area based setup will be needed.
At least it keeps things interesting!

Is it just me...
Being a public holiday I thought it would be a good day to set up a spreadsheet with the new digital control channels. Away I went cuting and pasting like a champion. That's when I found there seems to be more discrete control channels in the P25 system than there was in the analogue system. I found...

Re: P25 talk groups
I have been getting Dubbo 1 on 11024 coming off the Tamworth site. Could be Sheriffs, but not sure.

Re: Ambos to encrypt
Yes it is a Motorola system, and my understanding is that each individual radio identifies itself to the system. I also understand that this is done by way of the serial number. This apparently allows the radio to be excluded from the system at any time it is lost, stolen or otherwise not in the pos...

Re: Ambos to encrypt
I'm not arguing but I know a P25 system, albeit conventional, that is already using authentication. The system is up and running right now.

Yes for Tamworth, but not for that arctic-like place called Armidale!

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing
Then there is the old chestnut... when (or is it if?) the NSWPF will move over to GRN?
The rumours continue to abound...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing
Just some more info - The Tamworth site (Bald Hill, old site 326) is now running P25. Site 002-037 LCN 04-0800 CC 417.475. It is coming up on Unitrunker as being Wide Area (peers present) but it doesn't seem to be "active" as such. The analogue site has only recently started carrying ambulance traff...
