Re: National Parks & Wildlife

John, 78.775 Is Narrow Neck fire tower south of Katoomba. This site is linked to 77.700 Mt Tomah for coverage of the Blue Mountains park (much larger than the Blue Mtns Council area) so you will hear the same on both. Not sure of the area's for the other channels of the top of my head. ACMA database...

Re: National Parks & Wildlife

John,

Most of those are some distance from your location, but a discone should do OK, reason I was asking is many people try to listen to midband VHF on a UHF antenna with poor results.

Midband does sound very different to UHF too.

Re: National Parks & Wildlife

Allison,

do you know if the mobiles are on VHF MIDBAND (68-88) or HIGHBAND (136-174). I know of several area's where the HIGHBAND repeaters have been added to the system but the mobiles were all still MIDBAND. Curious to know if they have changed over yet.

Re: Home Security (DVR)

Buy a QNAP NAS, should look after all the storage and provides a web interface.

Re: National Parks & Wildlife

Blue Mountains, still on VHF Midband.

There has been a number of sites that are licensed to VHF Highband but no activity in my area as yet.
