yep that would probly be becuase vra don't have any bases in sydney area..
Closest vra would be central coast if its still in operation or down south bowral/mittagong area

not sure, but i'd say he has put alot of effort into this new gui version so it might start using alot more information that is passed in the control channel rather than requring us to manually set it up

some rfs districts do refer to their stations by number, i know i used to hear it quite alot on tg 28128 being sutherland district with certain people.
Baulkham Hills RFS use VHF as their primary communications anyways, and i believe the vhf is licensed to the council rather than to the rfs.

I'd say none will close and this is because
Police have cut radio dispatching resources back as much as they can go without sacrificing redundancy in their network.
I'm guessing the rumours are mentioning Penrith as one of the ones shutting down ?

Rangers by nature are normally Special Constables and endorsed to act under all different types of legislation to be able to enforce laws ranging from parking to environmental etc. Special Constables have the same legal search/arrest powers without looking into the Anti-Terror stuff that a Constable...
