Re: FRNSW Appliance Callsign Prefix

Thanks for the info, muchly appreciated! Seems incredible that Batemans Bay got the first one ever, but I guess someone has to get the first one. They aren't calling it "Eurobodalla TST" though, it's simply "TS217" and there doesn't seem to be a dedicated crew as the local 384 captain usually rolls...

Re: FRNSW Appliance Callsign Prefix

There is also a "TS" or Technical Support Vehicle that isn't on the list, station 217 (Batemans Bay) has one but it's on loan to 384 (Moruya) at the moment. No idea what it actually is or does but station 384 seems to roll it with the rescue pumper on every single call they go to, wouldn't be surpr...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)

There must be a ton of new sites out west (as well as north) because there appears to be a handful of townies driving all over the state testing GRN coverage (can't remember the TG but they keep popping up saying "testing west" & "testing north" etc.) I'd infer this means a lot more rural FRNSW are...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)

Since Moving My Father down to Albury, and selling his house . . . Can't see myself getting back up into that part of the world for some time . . . so I won't be providing any up-dates for up there anytime soon. It's slowy progressing your way. In-time, you could be a great source keeping us update...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)

Based on DSDPlus pictures sent to me of the peers to Site 2.29 Bellata and 5.64 Mt Dowe, Kaputar, as well as 3.96 Point Lookout Ebor. these are the current control channels in that region. A number of sites are being moved to Zone 5 422.3000-BEE00.2D1-2.15-COLLARENBRI 419.6375-BEE00.2D1-2.29-BELLAT...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)

Was up in the Upper Hunter the past two days. I remember seeing one site having been up-dated in the list. I noticed Parkville wasn't active, so think I found the new Parkville CC. but below is what I found.

Z5-020 Parkville (Scone)
Z5-015 Aberdeen
Z5-027 Murrurundi

Re: Satellite Equipment & Airtime for 700 FRNSW Vehicles

Well a hand full of Sydney FRNSW Appliance have had this New Communications HUB equipment installed now.

The only real comm's difference you will see or hear . . . is the addition of a Sat Dome on the roof of the cabin.

Re: Satellite Equipment & Airtime for 700 FRNSW Vehicles

I read this as FRNSW admitting that the GRN isn’t up to the task in emergency situations, especially as they say this is in response to the 19/20 bushfires, and that they have had to go to an external, third party satellite MESH provider to ensure continuous communications. I would have to disagree...
