Re: GRN interference problem.

Thanks system_tech.

So will NSW GRN end up having the same options and functionality as the Vic MMR and WAPOL PMRN?

Re: GRN interference problem.

Mike, from his previous posts its pretty obvious Mal is talking about ASTRO25. (full P25 trunking) The system already is Smartzone P25 and has been for years. I remember a discussion somewhere that said the GRN will remain Smartzone but go fully digital, not ASTRO 25. That's what I'm trying to clea...

Re: GRN interference problem.

Migrating to P25 is definitely on the cards. Expect a whole lot of congestion ie busies as they split sites in half and operate separate P25 and SmartZone sites on the same location, during the migration process. For example, GPT will be something like 10 x P25 bases and 10 x existing SmartZone bas...

GRN interference problem.

Anyone else notice the weird interference popping up on the GRN? It's been happening on any talk group and on most Sydney sites. Sounds a bit like the frothing sound a cuppaccino machine makes :?

Started last night and it has been happening during most of today. Very annoying!

I think they said, came up requesting a landing place in Cherrybrook - Near Castle Hill, they were liaising with the same operator who does Wagga/Goulburn etc. The operator told them to stand by while they contacted S...

Re: New Talkgroup?

Some more Private Call/I-call/interconnect trivia. In times before trunk-tracking scanners, the only way to scan the GRN was to put a site's voice frequencies in a conventional scanner bank and monitor transmissions while pressing the scan button to keep track. This meant any private calls could eas...

And it will scan only 16 talkgroups at a time.
