Re: Spammers R Us
Just a quick note to say that new members' posts are now moderated (and have been for the last week or so). It hasn't stopped the spammers altogether (yet), but at least their crapola isn't being displayed on the forum any more, and hopefully they'll get the message sooner rather than later and move...

Spammers R Us
Regular visitors may have noticed that we've been swamped by spam over the last week or so. I've deleted dozens of posts, banned a couple of user names and warned a couple more, but it's obviously going to be an ongoing nuisance. They simply register a new account and start over. Unfortunately, we m...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
Thanks for that info, I will have another look, as a side note I have updated the old Uniden 996T and 996XT to the Uniden 536PT, I have used one for a while and they seem to be pretty good UPDATE: There is a heap of 06 LCNs on all sites I can receive so that confirms it. G'day Mark, yep, most users...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
G'day Mike, there are quite a few simulcast sites around and have been for many years, also referred to as "Hidden Host" sites here. I have one end of a simulcast site near me (the Mt Budawang end of the Mt Cowangerong host site) and yes, I can confirm that it's CQPSK and my scanners don't like it (...

Re: NSWGRN Control Channel list
There was always a "pool" of frequencies that were used and reused for CC/BUCC bases, so I'd guess that, even with new sites being added, the list wouldn't have changed much?
Are there really any sites with old PF frequencies for control channels?

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Radio IDs
"TU" is actually Tuross Heads. The Marine Rescue there used to be tied in with the VRA, or at least all based in the same shed, but I haven't been out there in a couple of decades so it might have changed. I've certainly heard the Tuross vessel on the GRN in the last week or so because they're the o...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Radio IDs
By the sound of it they're all portables, based on what I'm seeing where different callsigns seem to share RIDs. Described by one guy as "our new green GRN radios". Looks as if TG 12531 is the Far South Coast from Batemans Bay to Eden, although I've only heard as far south as Bermagui to date. All o...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Radio IDs
Hearing some new traffic today, sounds like Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol in Batemans Bay "testing comms on this new unit", do they have GRN access now?
Talkgroup is 12531 with RIDs in the 2449xxx range.

Re: FRNSW Appliance Callsign Prefix
Just out of interest, it seems "TS217" (or "Eurobodalla TST") has had a callsign change and is now "RV384" (they just went to a cliff rescue/body recovery in Ulladulla). The list on the 1st page says "RV - Rehab Van", is that correct? I would've bet vital parts of my anatomy that the "R" stood for "...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
I seem to recall on the GRN the other day, hearing an SES Swiftwater Rescue crew from Armidale (I think?) heading up Mungindi way (with a response time of +4 hours or something silly like that, but they were still the closest crew), only they got called off so they didn't get far enough to see if th...
