Just wondering if anyones used one of these receivers in the Sydney area?
Do many aircraft use it?
What kind of aircraft use it? Large commercial crafts? Helis? Small crafts? RAAF?
What kind of range do you get?
What equipment are you running?
Would you recommend the receiver you use? Why?

Is this freq some kind of CTAF? What area? Seems to have lots of aerodromes licensed for it, and Rescue 23 & 24 use a different CTAF freq in my area... But I picked it up today with close call as "the ghetto bird" flew over. Seemed to be the pilot informing radar of their intentions so that radar co...

Re: DAB+ Broadcast Service
DAB+ is only available in metro areas at present, on commercial stations. It will be 10 years, at least, before we see DAB+ in regional areas and on community stations (ie. the bulk of stations on digital). Most these stations already broadcast digitally, on the Internet - and you can listen to that...

Re: Active RFS GRN channels
Definately heard from the following in the last month from either Explorers Tree or Mt Tomah:
27472
27680
28592
30448
51216 - looks like an RFS TGID?
I believe I have heard 27616 once.
I can also verify that 28000 & 28944 are active.

Re: Channel X
Goulburn is the location of "police school". I tend to think Ch X is heavily involved with police training, as most the officers lack protocol - not just dispatch.aircadet wrote:they often dont have great radio protocol... and seem a little overwhelmed with there one radio call every couple of hours
